Chillin' at the cottage

This was Elle's first trip to Cross Village where we have a family cottage.  It is located on Lake Michigan and is so beautiful.  It does not matter what time of the year it is.  It is a place to unwind and enjoy all God has to offer.  On the way there we stopped at Friske Orchards for donuts and cider.  They have a nice selection of pumpkins.  There is a little petting zoo with goats, chickens and sheep.
It is always one of the stops on our way north.  The dogs enjoyed romping in the woods and chasing chipmunks and squirrels.  We walked the beach multiple times, you can go for miles.  My mother in law is a great hostess and always lets me bring the pups. (even though she is more of a cat person!)

Fridays are for puppies!

Right from the start Maxwell and Beau Geste were the best of buddies.  We couldn't ask for more than what these two give us.  They are both loving and smart.  They are very good with their new sister Elizabeth.  Happy Friday Corgi Nation.

Thinking of Harley

Our dear Harley has been gone for almost two years now.  In the fall season I always start to think about him daily.  He passed away on November 1, 2010.  Complications of kidney disease.  He was 14.  All of the above pics were taken in that last year of his life.  He raised our four sons as his pack and believe me he was the alpha male!  He was greatly loved and remembered by all...

I have been checking Ellie's teeth to see if she is getting any adult teeth.  She wants to chew everything in sight.  I keep forgetting to put my shoes away they are becoming her favorite chew thing!

We will never FORGET

We proudly fly our nations flag today.  It is a day of remembrance for us and we will never forget the attack on our soil.  We thank God for the brave men and women who volunteer for our armed services to protect us.  We pray for them daily.  We pray for the families of the victims of this great tragedy, we are all victims.  Thank you to all the dogs who helped find the survivors.  Please continue to be supportive of our nation and pray for it's leaders.

RIP Monty

The Queen's oldest corgi has passed away at the age of 13. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her.

Soccer balls are tasty

Elizabeth says they make a great teething toy.  She is a few days shy of 3 months and I think she is teething.  So far raw hides and bones are doing the trick of her need to chew.  Have only caught her a couple of times trying to eat my shoes.  We have done very well with the house training.  In the 5 weeks we have had her she has had only 4 accidents.  So I think we are doing well.  She is getting more confident by the day and Maxwell seems to be her target for antagonizing into rough play.  Today Max was hanging off Beau's neck and Elle was hanging off Max's, a perfect photo op. Sometimes I feel like I need to carry the camera with me everywhere I go.  Beau is struggling with all the fall allergens.  He is taking some allergy medicine but is still gnawing on his feet because they itch.  He will see the vet tomorrow.  I know how he feels but my pain comes in sneezing and headaches.

Update on Corgi Butts calendar contest......

Well we didn't get picked for a monthly feature but Kelly is putting all the other finalists on the cover!  Which is a super baroo from our Blue Water Corgis.  Looking forward to ordering it.  Thank you to all of you who voted for us.  I still cannot believe we made it to the top 30!

Smilin' Saturday

A couple of pics from last fall.  Yikes there is snow on the ground!  Well it is September now and you can sense fall is not far off.  The leaves are beginning to change.  The sun rises later in the morning and sets earlier at night.  What a beautiful blue moon we viewed last night.  The next time will be 2015.  How time flies by when we are having fun.  To all of our corgi brethren a farewell to summer is upon us.  Heres to a beautiful fall.
